The Department of Computer Technologies of our Vocational School organized an awareness and information event titled “Digital Screens and Health: Unknown Risks” within the scope of the Community Service Practices Project for 5-year-old students attending kindergartens operating in our district.
The event, carried out under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Fatih Karaca, provided children with age-appropriate information on the possible health effects of unconscious and prolonged use of digital screens.
Within the scope of the event, students were informed about:
• the negative effects of looking at screens for long periods,
• how screen time should be regulated,
• alternative activities that can be done instead of screen use,
• ways to use digital technologies more correctly and consciously.
As part of the event program, students were visited at:
• Ali Rıza Önder Kindergarten – June 23, at 10:00 a.m.
• Erbaa Yuvam Kindergarten – June 23, at 2:00 p.m.
• Erbaa Masal Kindergarten – June 24, at 2:00 p.m.
Through these activities carried out within the scope of the Community Service Practices Project, it was aimed to raise awareness among children about digital screen use at an early age and to help them develop a basic understanding of healthy technology use.
The Community Service Practices Projects conducted by the programs of our Vocational School are planned to be continued and expanded in the coming period.
