The 3rd meeting of the Unit Advisory Board, established to enhance the quality of education and training activities at our vocational school, strengthen cooperation with industry, evaluate stakeholder opinions, and improve social contribution processes, was held with broad participation in the meeting hall of our campus.
The meeting, chaired by our Director Dr. Lecturer İrfan Usta, was attended by our Vice Director Lecturer Dr. Güler Uzun, the Deputy Mayor of Erbaa Municipality, the Director of KYK Erbaa Dormitory, representatives of public institutions, private sector representatives, department heads, student representatives, and the Secretary of the Vocational School.
In his opening speech, our Director Dr. Lecturer İrfan Usta stated that vocational schools are not only centers of academic knowledge production, but also institutions integrated with industry, sensitive to social needs, and focused on training students through practical education. Usta emphasized the strategic importance of quality assurance, accreditation studies, and practice-oriented education models in higher education institutions.
Following the opening speech, department heads provided information about the academic, social, and sectoral activities carried out within their departments. Subsequently, sector representatives and public stakeholders shared their evaluations regarding students’ professional development processes, internship practices, sector expectations, and opportunities for inter-institutional cooperation.
During the meeting, the studies carried out in line with our university’s quality-oriented educational approach and the objectives for the new academic period were discussed comprehensively. Within this framework, the participants evaluated the decisions taken at the previous Unit Advisory Board meeting, reviewed the studies conducted within the scope of the accreditation process, discussed developments related to the 3+1 education model, exchanged views on strengthening internship processes and sector collaborations, evaluated students’ social, cultural, and social responsibility activities, discussed the operation and sustainability of the health room established on campus, reviewed the activities carried out within the scope of zero waste and recycling projects, evaluated the current status of accommodation, dining, and social support services for students, received information about planned social contribution projects, and shared suggestions, expectations, and objectives for the upcoming period.
Throughout the meeting, common opinions particularly focused on improving practice-oriented education, increasing students’ sector experience, strengthening collaborations that contribute to graduate employment, and expanding social responsibility activities. It was also emphasized that the opinions and suggestions of stakeholders would contribute significantly to the strategic planning processes of the vocational school.
The importance attached by our Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Yılmaz and our Director Dr. Lecturer İrfan Usta to quality processes, stakeholder participation, practice-oriented education, and sustainable institutional development was once again reflected in the evaluations and objectives discussed during the meeting. The meeting, held in line with the institutional development goals of our vocational school, provided a productive platform for strengthening communication and cooperation among the academic structure, sector representatives, and student stakeholders.
The meeting concluded with the closing remarks of our Director Dr. Lecturer İrfan Usta, who thanked the board members for their contributions and support and emphasized the importance of stakeholder cooperation in the quality-oriented development process of our vocational school. 15.04.2026
