Under the coordination of Assoc. Prof. Özlem Kum, Asst. Prof. H. Sinem İnnap, Lecturer Sebiha Erarslan, and Lecturer Arzu Sönmez, a technical visit was organized to NADİR Tekstil, located in Tokat, with the participation of students from the Graphic Design and Fashion Design Programs within the scope of the courses Design Software, Illustration, Color Fastness Tests, and Draping.
The technical visit was designed as an application-oriented learning process aimed at integrating students’ theoretical knowledge with real production environments. In this context, students had the opportunity to observe on-site serigraphy printing processes, printing mold preparation techniques, various textile printing methods, and fabric surface characteristics. In addition, fundamental stages of industrial operations such as fabric cutting patterns, production processes, and workshop organization were examined in detail.
During the visit, particular emphasis was placed on batik techniques, dyeing applications, and the use of both chemical and natural dyes. Practical knowledge was provided regarding technical parameters such as color fastness and material behavior. In this respect, the activity supported not only observational learning but also the development of analytical thinking and technical comprehension skills.
The School Administration places particular importance on such application-based educational activities that enable students to gain sectoral experience and considers academia–industry collaboration as a strategic priority. In this regard, the technical visit is considered to have made a significant contribution to students’ professional development and career planning.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the officials of NADİR Tekstil for their kind hospitality and for the technical guidance and support provided throughout the visit. 21.04.2026
