The Scientific Research Project (BAP) titled “Reflection of Traditional Motifs in Contemporary Design: Sustainability of Cultural Heritage,” led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem Kum, a faculty member of the Design Department of our Vocational School, has been approved for funding by the Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit.
Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to examine traditional motifs in terms of cultural identity, aesthetic value, and design language, and to reinterpret these motifs through contemporary design approaches to contribute to sustainable cultural production processes. The project is considered significant in terms of preserving cultural heritage, transferring it to future generations, and developing innovative practices in the field of design.
The research team includes Dr. İrfan Usta, Director of our Vocational School, Lect. Sabiha Erarslan, and Lect. Arzu Sönmez. The project is planned to be carried out through an interdisciplinary collaboration approach, producing scientific research, design applications, and academic outputs.
We congratulate the project team, which is expected to contribute to the scientific research capacity of our university and cultural heritage studies, and wish them success in their work.
